It’s the piece of furniture Mel’s dad said we should just get rid of when we were loading up the moving truck a few years ago, yet she insisted it was coming with us. Our kitchen table is ooold, it’s humble, and it’s a bit unsightly (hence why we keep it covered at all times). But it also is sturdy, it continues to serve us well, and we are nowhere near finished adding stories of our own to the history it has to tell.
There is something truly remarkable about the moments that unfold around a kitchen table. The breaking bread together, the meaningful conversations, the laughter, the tears… This beautiful simplicity of every day life is something we pray is never taken for granted. No matter how chaotic life gets.
Hugs,
Kel and Mel
